Thor Dekker is truly every woman's dream. And I don't say this because he is 6'4", muscularly built, blue eyes, blond hair and a BS degree in Biology. I say this because of his personality and moral fiber. This guy literally has to refuse "motel room keys" as they are offered quite often. But Thor is a one-woman man, not because he has to be, but because that is how he was raised. He is honest as the day is long. I could keep telling you of the attributes of this man but one, it would take up too much space, and two, you would not believe me anyway. You don't find men like Thor any more.

I met Thor when I was hired as the Varsity basketball coach at Coronado High School. He was my jr varsity coach and assisted me with the Varsity. Oh, did I forget to say he was a McDonald's high school All-American? With his college playing days ended, he continues to play recreationally. I also hired him as an instructor at Pacific Coast College where he was one of the best teachers on staff.

Presently he is in charge of the recreation department at North Island Naval Air Station. Perfect job for him. He married a mutual friend and beautiful lady, Nancy, and they have three boys, I think. Maybe four but I think only three. Thor also puts his kids welfare and upbringing before anything else but what else would you expect from him.

I love talking about basketball and I can't think of anyone I have had more discussions about the game with than Thor. Strategies, coaching techniques, defenses, offenses, the whole gamut.

But Thor is one of a very few people I have met in my life that I look up to. He does all the things I wish I had done. Morally he is without equal and lives his life by those standards. That is why I say he is every woman's dream. Add personality, intelligence, sense of humor, and you end up with Thor Dekker. I have been lucky to know this man. He gives me a sense that there is still hope for me in my future. Hey, he can't be too bad. My own daughter, as a little girl, took one look at him and told me, "I am going to marry Thor when I grow up." I am happy to say I spoke to Thor just the other day and life seems to be going very well for him. As it should be. Thanks for all the great times we had together with that game of games, basketball. I am lucky to have you for a friend.
