This
is my third son, Ken. He is one of the most loving, caring people I know. He
puts up a tough guy exterior, but he has the heart of a pussycat. He would do
anything to help someone out. He also thinks he is a thug...lol. The background
music is alllll Kennnnnnny. If you want to know who let the dogs out, ask him.
He will know. Ken has such a warm smile too. When he smiles, you know you are
among friends. It is his only outward sign of the warm heartedness he possesses.
Ken
is also a very good athlete, unfortunately he picked up my genes and put on
more weight than a good athlete can handle. He may be the best shooter in basketball
in our family. From the time he was a little guy, he had radar on his shots.
I remember when Bobby was in high school, at halftime of one of his games, they
had a 3-point shootout contest for money. All the contestants were high schoolers
but Bobby snuck Ken in as a contestant. I think Ken may have been in the sixth
grade. Each contestant had to shoot five three-point shots from five different
locations. On one end of the court, one of the football players got unconscious
and made four out of five. On our end of the court, up steps Ken. Everyone was
watching to see who this little guy was. many of them knew he was Bobby's brother.
He banged in the first shot and everyone went "Oooooh." Then he hit
his next two and by now the entire gym was watching him, cheering him on. He
missed his fourth shot and now needed to make his fifth shot just to tie. He
fired in the fifth shot from the corner and as soon as it left his hands, he
pointed his hand into the air and yelled, "Yeah!" So now there was
a play off for the money. The other guy made one, I think. Ken stepped up and
nailed three out of five and walked home with the fifteen bucks. Everyone was
cheering their butts off for him. He
played little league baseball and pee-wee football but the only sport he really
excelled in was basketball. Had he not gained the weight, he most likely would
have been the best player in our family. I can't say for sure though cause Deb
was awesome. Ken
loves music, all kinds and loves hanging out "wit my boys" while tooling
around town in his Mustang GT. Really a cool looking car. Check out his pic
page to see it. If
you have Ken for a friend, you have a real friend. He is presently working with
his brother, Bobby, and still trying to figure out what he really wants to do
for a career in his life. He is very good at his job now but not sure that is
what he wants to do all his life. Whatever he selects, I know he has the potential
to be very good at it. If you ever get to meet Ken, you will always love him. I
suppose because I have a weight problem too, I am so very close to him. It breaks
my heart sometimes when I see the problems "we" have with this weight.
But I am old and can "hack it." Ken is still young and dealing with
it. Little by little, I see him developing more self-confidence and will soon
be on his way, developing his life as he wants it to be. I
just love him so much. No matter how tough things may be going, he is always
worrying about me. I tell him I am fine and get on with his life but that is
Ken. His family comes first, then his friends, then himself. I am sure he will
get it straightened out soon. One
of the nicest things I have ever read was on his personal (ugly) web site...lol
The question was asked who his heroes in life were. He responded with, "I
only know one hero. My dad." What else can you say after that? I love you
so much Ken and will always be very proud of you in what ever you do. Thank
you for so may very personal memories. You, like your brothers and sister, have
made my life so complete. I am so lucky to have had you for a son. You have
no idea how much I love you.
