Number 30 and its accompanying memory
Number 30 is about a happy girl. In fact, THE Happiest Girl In The Whole USA. I was going to ComSysTech school in Washington DC in late 1972. I had orders to the Philippines and had my 2 1/2 year old son going there with me. I had left him with Ken and Sherry in Cleveland while I was going to school.
There was this particular waitress at the EM Club that attracted my attention. She was young and cute and with a bubbling personality. I won't divulge here name. We hit it off real well and this song, Happiest Girl In The Whole USA, was playing quite frequently in the club. She said I made her that girl. She was so much fun to be around, always smiling and laughing, but I knew in three months I was heading for the Philippines. I told her this and she said, "Well let's have fun until you leave." How many times I wonder what would have happened had I gotten stationed there in DC and been able to spend more time with her. I hope she is doing well today. Never heard a word from her after I left. A friend of mine who was stationed there said she quit her job about two weeks after I left. But I know she is doing well cause she really was The Happiest Girl In The Whole USA as far as I was concerned.
