Number 40 and its accompanying memory
This is the old Beatles song, We Can Work It Out, but here it is sung by Petula Clark. We were on our way home from a Western Pacific Cruise, (WestPac), and I was going through someone's "illegal" 33 rpm records that were sold in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I came across Petula singing this song and I was immediately attracted to the slowed down version. Whenever I hear this song, I am taken back to all the great times I had running the bars and chasing the ladies in Kaohsiung. Which goes without saying, brings up some interesting times and memories. Almost married a girl from Taiwan. Her name was Chang, Sue Chen, but she went by the name of Snow. Haha. Wrong name for this girl. Too bad she wasn't as pure as her driven name. Anyway, we had great fun for 7 days that I took leave. Truth be told, if our mail hadn't been accidentally sent to Australia and VietNam, I might have followed through on the marriage. But after three months of no responses, I moved on. Only to later get a whole bunch of letters that she had written to me that had been lost in the mail. Oh well. I "Worked It Out" alone. But I still love the song.
