Number 7 and its accompanying memory
Yes, my friends, we are going to have another family moment. Watching Scotty Grow came out when my first son, John, was barely two years old. His mom and I had split up a year earlier and I had full custody of John. You could not find a happier man in those days than I was living my life with John and Watching John Grow. I could write a book just on all the experiences we have shared together. I have a special love for him as he was the first born. I couldn't have blueprinted a better baby. I love all my kids, each in a special way. John and I probably have the most intense memories as we have been together and through much more than the others. I was talked into buying a motorcycle by my downstairs neighbor. Kinda glad I did now, memory wise that is. I bought a little helmet for John and everywhere I went, he went right with me, sitting between my legs. If he got tired on long trips, he would just lay his head down on the gas tank and take a nap. As I listen to the song, too many memories come up so suffice to say friends, I got to Watch Johnny Grow and am fortunate enough to have seen what a marvelous young man, son, husband, and father he grew up to be. They just don't come any better and no man is more proud of his son than I am of John. I only regret his mom was not around to see what she helped produce. She passed away when John was in the fifth or sixth grade. But she did get to visit him often and she always remembered his birthday.
